Riga Urban Adventures

Day tours, with a local

Riga Urban Adventures team invites travellers to explore the two-faced city combining ancient and youthful with our Riga sightseeing tours. Notwithstanding that the Old Town of Riga is a World Heritage Site, the city, also called the “Paris of the East”, is a major metropolis of the Baltic States. The combination of historical architecture monuments, numerous glittering glass hotels and business centres has created a potent charm to the city. Generous beauty and a fusion of old and new is what you can find here on a tour in Riga.

Each season gives its own charm to Riga, and with our Riga walking tours you will be able to experience all the charm Riga has to offer. At Christmas time the craft market grows in the centre of the Dome Square filling up the Old Town with a smell of mulled wine and roasted chestnuts. Meanwhile, Daugava River crackles with ice and the bravest ones who cross it by foot. During the summer, the river brings a cooling breeze and marvellous flowers in the Riga parks colour the city. By the way, Riga is a very green destination, not only because it has a lot of parks and valleys all around the city, but also because it offers the possibility to find sustainable and local products in the very centre of the city – Riga Central Market. Travellers can experience being a local in Riga during their sightseeing tour of Riga here, where the local farmers offer their freshest harvest every day.

Latvia is also called as a land that sings and it’s not only a poetic metaphor. Riga has its own song because of cobblestones filling the Old Town streets like musical notes, church towers singing to each other via the tolling of bells, street musicians playing romantic melodies and people singing and laughing in beer gardens all over the Old Town.

One of the most popular Riga activities is strolling. That’s why our team invites you to join the Private City Walking tour in Riga during which you can wander around Riga with your eyes pointed upwards to notice numerous architecture features reflecting Latvia history and culture. To see the spontaneous, and sometimes even wild side of Riga, don’t forget to visit its extremely funky bars or candle-lit restaurants after getting lost in winding, sun-dappled or snow-covered cobbled streets.

This was an excellent tour with a guide who answered all our questions - about the city itself, daily life for Latvians, cultural and historical significances. LOVED the activity of making our own Latvian dancing shoes!! What an incredible surprise treat! We also love that the guides share with us their personal or family's experiences, which enriches the tour, allowing us to get a better glimpse into what life has been like in Lativa over the last century. Excellent, excellent tour.
